    baron-de-niege:

Kyn would always check on everything the new signees did, not because he didn’t trust them- he just wanted to make sure they were on the right track. Alright, he didn’t trust him. Hell, he wouldn’t have been trustworthy at that age- and he was a hard worker, head of his own label and not even forty, yet.

Currently, he was flipping through the songs one of the newest additions had submitted for their debut album. He was impressed- how had they never signed on with anyone else, before? These lyrics were truly fantastic.

He called his secretary in, asking her to call the writer, this ‘Shuichi’ up to talk to him, when the band came in. She explained that they were already in the building, having a meeting with their manager.

“Already in the building?” What a conicidence, he thought to himself. “Get him up here, then- tell him I want to talk about these lyrics. ASAP.” He waved her out of the room, before yelling one detail to her, “Pull him out of that meeting, if you have to- “
“Because you have a pitch scheduled with the new advertisement firm, I know.” He shook her head, she was his secretary, after all. “I’ll get an intern to bring him up for you.” She closed the office door behind her, returning to her desk and phoning down to that level with the instructions.

The meeting with Bad Luck’s manager, K, was going very well. Shuichi had pumped up a handful of new lyrcis and his band mates were more than ready to begin recording. Just a few weeks ago, they were signing a contract and dreaming of the stage. Shuichi was more than ready to accomplish what he’d set out to do: he was going to be a famous rock star, no matter what the cost.

“I can’t believe that we’re going to begin recording this week!” The redhead was saying to his guitarist and best friend, Hiro, when the manager stepped out a moment. “We’re finally going to take the world by storm! Every store in the world will carry our albums!"

Hiroshi only chuckled at his hopeful outburst. "Do your best not to get carried away, Shuich. We’re new here, and we don’t really have a lot of room to go throwing our weight around. Just be patient.”

    “But Hiro–"

The door swung open and an intern waved Shuichi over. "Mr. L'Estrange would like to discuss the new lyrics with you, Shindou. Please follow me to his office."

Shuichi and Hiro exchanged looks. Oh, no. Time and time again, Shuichi had been told that his writing was childish. Even once, a stranger had picked up a page of his lyrics, read it through before returning it with a few snide remarks. Zero talent, he’d said. Shuchi had zero talent.

Nervously, the redhead nodded and got to his feet. "Y-yeah. I’m coming. See you later, Hiro.” He added, tossing an exasperated look to his friend who only shrugged.

When they arrived at the door, which was shut snugly, Shuichi stared at it for quite some time. He read over the name plate: Kyn L'Estrange. This guy was definitely the label’s producer. How would he ever survive if L'estrange destroyed his lyrics? How would he ever become the rock star he dreamed of being?! Hesitantly, he gave a knock against the door. “Hello? It’s Shindou!"
