Shuichi’s heart pounded in his chest. “R-… Really? You think so?” The best of the new batch. That wasn’t something to blink at — especially coming from the label’s producer. He beamed, eyes lighting up. “I promise we won’t let you down! We’d be honored for you to sit in!”
{❄} “As much as I would love to discuss these more with you, I have adult things to do. Meeting and things, lots of fun.” He waved a hand, “You can get back to your mates, now.” He paused, “Unless, of course, you’re free tonight and might want to talk a little more over dinner?”
On his desk, his cell phone began to go off, making an intensely loud buzzing noise that was amplified by the desk. “Shit, I have to take this.” He picked it up with a sigh, answering in French. “Bonjour…oui, c’est moi…ah, je-….non, non…”
He covered the microphone with a hand, "Just, ah- think about it, will you?” He smiled, “Check in with Clarence if you’re interested, alright?” He returned to his call,
Dinner? Had he just been asked to dinner by the producer of the label? Shuichi turned a few shades darker, lashes fluttering as he stared. “Well, I–” But the phone was ringing before he could finish his answer. He was actually kind of glad. Why would he ask someone like Shuichi to dinner? Was it really just for business?
Hearing the other man speak in French only furthered his curiosity. It was such a romantic language. Did he speak it naturally? Would he be able to ask about it over dinner?
“A-ah, right!” He whispered softly,scrambling out of his chair and nearly running into the door frame on his way out. One thing was for sure – he’d have to talk this over with Hiro. Maybe he’d know more about their mysterious producer than he did.
