{❄} The driver had been waiting outside the door, and politely explained who he was, helping Shuichi downstairs and opening the car door for him. Apparently the label had a fleet of these sleek, black cars. The driver said no more, until the partition rolled down as the car stopped.
“You get out, here.” The driver said, unlocking the doors for him.
The restaurant was huge, with expensive-looking decor and low lighting. The doors were opened by valets, and the hostess at the glowing, fish-filled podium recognized the teenager immediately. She sent him up a flight of LED-lined steps and instructed him to take the last booth at the end of the hallway. The thin screen was already open, and his producer was comfortably perched on dark red velvet.
“Ah, so you decided to show up.” He mused, sipping his tea. He replaced it to its place on the glossy black table. “Most people wouldn’t- I honestly wasn’t expecting you.”
“Excuse my rudeness, please- sit.”
By the time they’d arrived and Shuichi was escorted along the glimmering staircase, his heart was pounding rapidly. This place was huge. He’d never been to a restaurant like it in his whole life. Fast food was his restaurant of choice, and even then he felt like he was being decadent – spending that much money on a few slabs of meat that were claimed to be burgers.
He slipped into the booth, barely able to keep from letting his gaze roam from left to right. There was so much to look at here. He was sure that he woudln’t be able to afford anything on the menu. "Of course I did!” His gaze snapped back to the producer, almost defiantly. “I’m not like most people!"
