“I’m not offended, I just…” Shuichi slowly sank down, without noticing the warning in the other’s eyes, his own gaze on the table. He swallowed, hard. “I don’t think it’s such a bad thing, is all. To want to be like someone else. I won’t want to be him, I want to surpass him. I want to be as great as him. No, greater.” Finally, he met the producer’s eyes, brow furrowed. “And I will be. I swear that I’ll rise to meet his level."
