So he had been with men, too? The realization embarrassed Shuichi, and he wasn’t sure why. “I can relate to that. Yuki was a real jerk. We met in the park; I dropped my lyrics to a new song and he picked them up. Told me I had zero talent. That I should stop writing love songs right then. And somehow, I fell in love with him. Guess my teenage logic is just as bad as yours was.” 

{❄} “Fantastic, at least I’m not alone.”

“And I wasn’t in love with my jerk- just painfully terrified of him, until senior year when I got sick of his shit and hit back.” He gave the younger man a shrug, “I met a beautiful woman, and I was married for awhile, but it just…didn’t work out. I have bad relationship luck, I guess.” He sipped his tea, “I try and tell myself that I just haven’t found the right person, you know?”

This guy, whoever he was, had hit him? Shuichi pursed his lips and decided to keep himself silent with a mouthful of salmon roll. He chewed as Kyn spoke, listening with a polite nod here and there. 

“I’m the same way. I guess. I don’t know. I don’t know if I even believe that love really exists anymore. I keep thinking that I just need to hold off until it finds me, but here I am, singing about something I might not believe it.”
