This guy, whoever he was, had hit him? Shuichi pursed his lips and decided to keep himself silent with a mouthful of salmon roll. He chewed as Kyn spoke, listening with a polite nod here and there. 

“I’m the same way. I guess. I don’t know. I don’t know if I even believe that love really exists anymore. I keep thinking that I just need to hold off until it finds me, but here I am, singing about something I might not believe it.”

{❄} "You’re nineteen, shut up. When I was your age I was in a coma. You have better chances than I did, by far.”

"Well, for being so skeptical your lyrics read very… hopeful.”

“Age has nothing to do with it. I don’t think so anyways.” Shuichi smiled at the older man, resisting the urge to ask about his coma. He didn’t want to pry. If Kyn wanted to talk about it, he would. “I guess they do, yeah. Even if I don’t really know what I believe right now, I struggle to give up hope for the future. It’s like that song we were talking about – In the Moonlight? Waiting and basking in someone’s light even though you’ll never get to hold them or touch them? It’s like that. Waiting for love that will never come, but basking in the idea of it because it’s comfortable, familiar, ideal."
